Files stay on your device
Private by design
Your files are processed directly in your browser. They are not uploaded to Stay Local Tools servers for processing. Because the work happens on your device, your files stay with you unless you download or share them yourself.
Note: the website itself still loads normal web files, and may use analytics or ads later. The promise here is about the files and text you put into these tools.
How to Use
- Press Choose Files and select one or more JPG, PNG or WebP images.
- Enter a new width or height, or press a percentage button such as 50%.
- Keep Maintain Aspect Ratio on if you want to preserve the image shape.
- Press Resize. Your browser does the work, so nothing is sent to a server.
- Press Download for one image, or Download All to get every image at once.
How resizing works here
This tool redraws each image at a new pixel size and saves it in its original format. It does not crop your picture — the whole image is scaled to fit the new width and height you choose.
Maintain Aspect Ratio
Every image has a natural shape, called its aspect ratio — for example, a wide photo or a square icon. When Maintain Aspect Ratio is on, changing the width automatically updates the height, and changing the height automatically updates the width, so your image keeps its shape. Turn it off if you need an exact width and height, even if that stretches the picture.
Resizing several images together
If you enter a width or height, that value is used for every image, and each image's own height (or width) is calculated to match — so images with different shapes still keep their own proportions. If you use a percentage button instead, each image is scaled from its own original size, which is usually what you want for a mixed batch.
A note on very large sizes
Resizing happens in your browser's memory. Very large target sizes can be slow or use a lot of memory on some devices, especially phones. If a resize does not complete, try a smaller target size or fewer images at once.
Questions and Answers
Making an image smaller does not lose meaningful detail — it simply has fewer pixels. Making an image larger than its original size can look soft, because the extra pixels are created by the browser and not from real detail.
It keeps the width and height in proportion, so your image does not look stretched or squashed. When it is on, changing the width updates the height for you, and changing the height updates the width.
Yes. Enter a width or height bigger than the original and press Resize. Keep in mind that enlarging an image does not add real detail, so very large increases can look blurry.
They scale each image to that percentage of its own original size. If you resize several images together, each one is scaled from its own size, even if the images started at different sizes.
Yes. Choose or drag several images, set your target size once, and press Resize. Every image is resized using the same setting, then you can download them together as a ZIP file.
No. Resizing happens directly in your browser. Your images are read from your device and are not sent to Stay Local Tools servers for processing.

Sim.
