Files selected for supported local-processing tools are processed directly in your browser and are not uploaded to Stay Local Tools servers for processing. We do not store them.

The website itself is still a normal website. Your browser must download the page, and the web host records normal server logs. This page explains both parts honestly.

Tools marked Local Processing read your file with standard browser features, do the work in the page, and give you the result. Your file is not sent to Stay Local Tools servers as part of that work, and results are saved only when you press Download.

This claim is about the files and text you put into those tools. It is not a claim that the website makes no network requests at all — see the next sections.

If we add a tool in the future that cannot work this way, that tool will say clearly on its page that a file is sent to a server, and will explain what happens to it.

The tools in the Privacy Tools section — Sensitive Data Remover, EXIF Viewer & Remover, and PDF Metadata Remover — work the same way as every other local-processing tool on Stay Local Tools: your text, photo, or PDF is read and processed directly in your browser and is not uploaded to Stay Local Tools servers. Sensitive Data Remover uses local pattern matching only, with no AI model and no external detection service involved.

This policy covers the website Stay Local Tools at staylocaltools.com and the tools on it.

The website is served by a web hosting company. Like almost all web servers, it may keep normal technical logs, such as the address of the page requested, the time, your IP address and your browser type. These logs are used to keep the site running and secure.

We do not currently set tracking cookies for our own analytics or advertising purposes. The site may store small settings in your browser, such as your chosen language, so the site behaves the way you left it. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings.

Stay Local Tools does not use analytics at the time this page was written. If analytics are added later, this page will be updated first to name the service and say what it collects. Analytics would measure page visits only — never the content of your files.

The website may also load normal web resources in the future, such as files served from a content delivery network. Those are part of showing the page, and are separate from the files you process in a tool.

There are no ads displayed on Stay Local Tools at the time this policy was last updated. We have applied to use Google AdSense and may display Google advertisements if the site is approved.

If Google AdSense is enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar technologies to serve, personalize, and measure advertisements, subject to applicable law and user consent requirements.

Google may use information collected through its advertising services in accordance with its own privacy and advertising policies. This advertising activity is separate from the local file-processing features of Stay Local Tools. Files and text selected for local-processing tools are not provided to Google for advertising purposes.

Where required, users will be given appropriate choices regarding cookies and personalized advertising.

Advertisements will not be placed or styled in a way that could reasonably be mistaken for tool controls such as Convert, Process, or Download buttons.

The tools are general purpose and are not aimed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will change with it. Significant changes, such as adding analytics or advertising, will be described in plain language.
